A new ingredient starts appearing on TikTok. A phrase suddenly becomes fashionable. Someone discovers that adding the word “glow” to almost anything makes it sound £15 more expensive!
Before long, bathroom shelves are full, routines have twelve steps and, somewhere between the serum, toner, essence, acid and “revolutionary overnight miracle concentrate,” your skin is quietly wondering what it did to deserve all this attention.
The thinking behind GinGingers was much simpler.
I kept coming back to one question:
Would I genuinely want to put this on my own skin?
Not particularly glamorous. Not exactly the sort of sentence that makes investors throw confetti into the air.
But perhaps that was the point.
GinGingers grew from my belief that natural skincare doesn’t have to be complicated, aggressive or wrapped in impossible promises.
It can be simple. It can be thoughtful. Every ingredient can have a reason for being there.
And sometimes, it can all begin with something as familiar as an apple.

BRIGHTER! FASTER! STRONGER! YOUNGER! OVERNIGHT!
There always seems to be another product to add, another step you’re apparently missing and another promise that sounds too good to be true.
Somewhere along the way, looking after our skin became far more complicated than it needed to be.
With GinGingers, I wanted to take a different approach.
Not backwards. Not anti-science. And certainly not towards the internet’s “mix a few things from the kitchen and hope for the best” approach to skincare.
Just simpler, more considered natural skincare—made with carefully chosen ingredients and supported by proper formulation, testing and certification.
Because real skin isn’t a perfectly lit social media photograph. It can feel dry, oily, uncomfortable or simply a little out of balance. It has to cope with British weather, central heating, stress, makeup, shaving and everyday life.
Real skin needs thoughtful care—not another lecture.
Then Came the Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar isn’t exactly the mysterious new ingredient on the block.
People have been fermenting and using vinegar for generations. It belonged in kitchen cupboards and traditional routines long before social media discovered the phrase “ACV skincare.”
But there was a problem.
Search for Apple Cider Vinegar for skin online and things become wild remarkably quickly.
One corner of the internet suggests applying raw vinegar to practically everything. Another presents it as a miracle ingredient capable of solving every possible skin and hair concern.
Neither approach felt right to me.

From Kitchen-Cupboard Ingredient to a Proper Skincare Formulation
This is where the GinGingers story becomes less internet hack and more proper formulation.
The GinGingers Apple Cider Vinegar Gel takes the idea of Apple Cider Vinegar skincare and puts it into a purpose-made cosmetic product, combining real Apple Cider Vinegar with witch hazel, liquorice root extract, tea tree oil and meadowfoam seed oil.
I didn’t want to bury the Apple Cider Vinegar beneath fifty fashionable ingredients.
But I certainly wasn’t going to hand somebody a bottle of raw vinegar and say, “Good luck!”
I wanted to develop a natural, multi-purpose moisturising skin gel that brought Apple Cider Vinegar into a carefully balanced, everyday skincare format.
That distinction matters.
There is an enormous difference between an ingredient having an interesting traditional story and a finished cosmetic product being carefully formulated, professionally manufactured and safety assessed for use on the skin.
Nature gave me the starting point. Proper formulation turned it into GinGingers.
Why Certification Matters to Me
There is a problem with the word natural.
Almost anybody can use it.
Put a leaf on the packaging, photograph the product next to a pebble, add a little sage green and—voilà—you have something that looks natural.
I wanted GinGingers to have something far more meaningful behind the word.
Our Apple Cider Vinegar Gel is COSMOS Natural certified by Soil Association Certification, with 99.92% of its ingredients from natural origin. It is also Leaping Bunny approved by Cruelty Free International.
That independent recognition matters to me because customers have every right to ask questions:
What makes this product natural?
Where is it made?
Has it been independently certified?

Those aren’t awkward questions. They’re good questions—and a natural skincare brand shouldn’t be afraid to answer them.
For GinGingers, natural isn’t simply a word we chose for the packaging. It is something we have worked hard to support with recognised certification, transparency and evidence.
